Expert Answers about King Pin Locks

  • King Pin Lock That Fits Sidewinder or Revolution King Pin
  • There is a lock that will work for your Sidewinder, but the collar on the Blaylock EZ Lock King Pin Lock # BLTL-70, though the Blaylock's collar is going to interfere due to the design; if you take a look at the accompanying photo you can see how close the wedge and king pin are. Instead, I recommend the Master Lock 5th Wheel Trailer King Pin Lock # e98896. The reason why is the # e98896 will fit around the king pin and not interfere with the wedge on a Sidewinder.

  • King Pin Locks Compatible With PullRite Superglide Capture Plates
  • The Trimax King Pin Lock # TMX56RR can still be used with your 5th wheel having a capture plate from PullRite. The capture plate mounts to the top of the kingpin and only takes up a similar amount of space that a Lube Plate # RP83002 would. If you happen to have one of the few capture plates which also has a funnel type block welded near the king pin you would want to consider a lock like the etrailer # e98896 as it does not have the section which slides over the top of the king pin channel.

The locks and lube plates come in different thicknesses, so you determine the best option for your desires. • Fitment and Compatibility of Demco Hijacker / Kingpin compatability
  • Yes, a Demco Highjacker like # DM8550034 is compatible with a OEM Lippert 1116 King Pin Box. If you have an aftermarket Pin box like the Glide Ride, Mor Ryde, Trailair Tri Glide, and 5th Airborne, you will need a locking plates to use with the Highjacker. Demco does not recommend to use the Highjacker with any device that changes the pivot point of your trailer's king pin, therefor it is not compatible with a Sidewinder or Revolution king pins.

  • What Is A Good Lock For My 5th Wheel Or Gooseneck
  • The EZ Lock Gooseneck Coupler Lock Combo - Bulldog/Stallion/Superior/T.E.M. Gooseneck Couplers # BLTL-53-40D2 is designed to fit Bulldog, Stallion, Superior and TEM gooseneck couplers. The image you have supplied is of a 5th wheel. They have king pins and require different couplings and locks like the etrailer 5th Wheel King Pin Lock - Keyed Alike # e98896. I do not recommend trying to use any lock on a brand it is not designed for. It may cause damage to your coupler or may not even...

  • Does the Reese 30047 Fifth Wheel Offer 360 Degree Pin Engagement
  • While it is a dual jaw system the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30047 does not make 100% contact 360 degrees around the king pin. This is normal on this particular head. To ensure that it is properly connected to the camper you need to make sure the latch is closed and secured on the handle. With that in place the fifth wheel is properly connected.

  • Will the Reese M5 5th Wheel Hitch Work With A King Pin On A Race Car Trailer
  • The dimensions of a king pin are an industry standard between both RV's and Semi's. Therefore, if you wanted you could actually tow an RV with a Semi. The standard dimensions for the king pin are 2" diameter and the groove is indeed around 1-1/2" tall so I do not see any irregularities with your trailer and you can use the Reese M5 Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30921 no problem. The thickness of the jaw will not be an issue as it does not exceed 1".

  • B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch Compatibility with Locked Reese Sidewinder Pin Box
  • The B&W Companion hitch for the Gooseneck Turnoverball is not designed to work with a Sidewinder. The only option to make that combination work is to lock the Sidewinder turret with the bolt designed to do so that it functions like a regular pin box. The Sidewinder cannot be used with a gooseneck adapter of any sort, even this sturdy a hitch, due to the torque on the hitch when the trailer rotates on that turret 22 inches back from the king pin. You will need the king pin to rotate...

  • Can The Ultra-Fab King Pin Tripod Stabilizer Be Used With A PullRite SuperLite Single Point Hitch
  • The gooseneck style ball that's attached to your king pin would fit in the cup of the Ultra-Fab 5th Wheel King Pin Tripod Stabilizer # UF19-950001 and act as a stabilizer as you extend it up. The problem is that the shape of the cup could allow for a bit of movement or just place the downward force on the tripod at an angle since there's a lot of space so you might run into issues getting it to sit correctly. You also would not be able to use the included padlock to prevent someone from...

  • Can a King Pin Stabilizer Jack be Used with a Revolution or Sidewinder
  • It is possible to use a king pin tri-pod stabilizer with a Revolution or Sidewinder, but you would have to install the lockout bolts at the turret to prevent movement or rotation. If the Sidewinder is not locked out, any type of movement in the trailer or from a strong wind would allow the pin box to rotate slightly, which could reduce the effectiveness of the stabilizer, or if severe enough cause damage. If you intend to lockout the pin box, then you will want to choose a tripod jack...

  • Will Adapter Plate on Pin Box Work With a Standard 5th Wheel Hitch
  • If the King Pin that you have in the picture is part of a Sidewinder, like part # RP61412, then you will need to keep the wedge on the King Pin. The plate will help keep the pin box from rotating at the 5th wheel hitch by moving the pivot point to the turret, where the pin box attaches to the trailer. A Sidewinder can be used with a sliding 5th wheel hitch as well, as long as the the hitch remains in the forward locked position. If the plate is on a standard pin box, like part # LC328330,...

  • Fifth Wheel Hitch Experiencing Back and Forth Movement While Towing
  • The 1/2" pin is pretty standard with fifth wheel setups because they have to fit through the rails in the bed. All of the fifth wheel pins we carry are 1/2" options. If you are just concerned about rattle I recommend to use Curt Fifth Wheel Sound Dampeners part # 16900. They install between the hitch and mounting rails to eliminate some of the rattle while you are driving. These will work with any industry standard fifth wheel rail in the bed. You may be experiencing chucking or jarring...

If the key to your Ford F-250 King Ranch looks like one of those four keys, then it will be compatible. I've added links to video reviews of this product for you to take a look at.
